Revealing God's Character Through a Growing Relationship with Jesus

God's Closet

Thank you to all who served during the God's Closet outreach event last Saturday. As Wayne Gaver said, "It was the best event we've had yet." From setting up tables mid-week to serving during the event -- laying out clothes, greeting guests, sorting, organizing shoes, helping with the meal, praying behind the scenes -- to cleaning up at the end of the outreach, it was many man-hours and much man-power dedicated to this ministry. From 5 to 80-plus-year-olds, and everything in between, it was quite the sight to see people serving together with a common vision and purpose of mission. We couldn't do this outreach if it wasn't for the commitment in the hearts of people to serve and to live out the gospel in tangible ways.

Even though our outreach is in place to primarily serve our local community, we cannot put God in a box or even know the extent of the ripple effects of the work He does through His church. Above is a clip I received from one of the shoppers. Rosario gathered clothes at the November event, and then mailed them (as she was able) to kids in a church in Mexico. The translated transcript of the video is this: "God bless the brothers and sisters of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Monroe. These are the kids of the church in Carrizalillo, Guerrero, Mexico, and they want to say a few words...one, two, three... 'God bless you, Seventh-day Adventist Church in Monroe. Thank you for the clothes!'"

God is doing a good thing in our community. What a blessing it is that we get to be a part of it!

Next free clothing distribution day: August 17

Because we want to help as many families as possible, your own personal bags will not be accepted at the door. So please do not bring your own bags. We will provide two bags per family when you check in at the door. Also we will provide additional bags for bulky items, as needed. We want everyone to have a positive and fair experience as much as possible. Thank you for your cooperation.

This free event is first come, first served, and until supplies last. We cannot guarantee there will be items available at all times in the needed gender/size, but we will keep our tables stocked as long as we have items to provide.

Everyone in your family is welcome to join us for a soup/salad/bread lunch/meal after you're done "shopping." Please register so we know how many to prepare for! (However, walk-ins are welcome if you were not able to pre-register before the event.)

Donations Welcome!

We are accepting donations of children's clothing items only (shoes okay). All donations must be pre-sorted by gender and size, and labeled on the outside of the bag/box.

Donations may be dropped off at the church facility (14118 Chain Lake Rd, Monroe) on days and times listed here (scroll down to Office Assistant). Please send a text message to 425-971-5290 to confirm drop off.

Thank you for partnering with us; you help us help our community!
